Savoury quark tart with chicken and peppers
Phase 2 savoury quark tart with chicken and peppers on legume base, full of protein and perfect cold or warm.
The savoury quark tart with chicken and peppers is a surprising dish that rests on a homemade base made from chickpeas. That base stays light and airy, whilst tender cooked chicken, sweet peppers and Italian herbs make the filling rich and savoury. Sliced into neat wedges, this tart looks almost too good to eat.
For Phase 2, this is a smart choice. The chickpea base and quark deliver fibre and slow carbohydrates, whilst chicken, eggs and cheese provide a decent protein portion. That combination keeps you satisfied for longer and provides steady energy, exactly what a protein diet asks for in this phase. So you enjoy a hearty dish that still stays in balance.
Lovely with a fresh cucumber salad or a spoonful of lean herb quark as a dip. For a full meal, serve this protein-rich quark tart with a handful of mixed salad with lemon.
