Savoury protein cheese biscuits

Crispy savoury cheese biscuits for Phase 1: strictly high-protein and carb-free, ready for your snack box.

13 min totaal 2 porties 230 kcal p.p. 19 g protein

These savoury protein cheese biscuits come out of the oven crisp and golden brown, and fill your snack box with a real savoury treat. A handful is enough to satisfy your hunger between meals, without reaching for something sweet.

In Phase 1 you keep your carbohydrates as low as possible and focus entirely on protein, and these biscuits fit perfectly. The combination of mature cheese, egg and almond flour delivers well over 19 grams of protein per serving with barely any carbohydrates, which keeps you feeling full for hours. This way you stay within the strict framework of a high-protein diet and prevent hunger from catching you off guard.

Delicious with a fresh quark dip or a few slices of cucumber alongside for extra crunch. They also taste great as a savoury snack with a cup of tea in the afternoon.

Zo maak je het

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Mix cheese, almond flour, egg and herbs until you have a cohesive dough.
  3. Spoon small mounds onto the baking tray and flatten to thin biscuits.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Let cool completely so they become crunchy for your snack box.

Bewaren

Store the cooled cheese biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature, and they'll stay crispy for up to four days. In the fridge they become softer, so take them out to warm up or reheat them briefly.

Variatietips

Replace the oregano with thyme or rosemary for a different herby note, or stir a pinch of cayenne pepper into the dough for a bit of kick. A tablespoon of grated Parmesan makes them even more hearty.
