Overnight oats with cinnamon and apple

Phase 3 overnight oats with oats, quark and apple for a hearty breakfast.

8 min totaal 1 portie 400 kcal p.p. 28 g protein

Prepare these overnight oats with cinnamon and apple the evening before, so you have a hearty breakfast ready to go in the morning. Oats become soft and creamy in milk and quark, whilst cinnamon and fresh apple chunks provide a familiar, warm flavour.

These oats fit nicely into Phase 3, where wholesome carbohydrates like oats get a place again. With quark and protein powder, you reach almost thirty grams of protein, a solid foundation for a protein diet, whilst the oats and apple deliver slow-release carbohydrates and fibre. That combination provides a lasting feeling of fullness and a steady energy release throughout the morning.

Lovely with an extra pinch of cinnamon or a spoonful of quark on top for an even creamier result.

Zo maak je het

  1. Mix the oats with the milk, quark and protein powder.
  2. Stir through the cinnamon.
  3. Scoop into a pot and press the apple pieces on top.
  4. Leave overnight in the fridge and stir through before serving.

Bewaren

Keep the overnight oats for up to 3 days in a sealed jar in the fridge, stirring well before eating. You can freeze them, but the texture becomes a bit softer after thawing.

Variatietips

Swap the apple for a pear or a handful of berries for a different fruit accent. A spoonful of unsweetened apple sauce or a pinch of ginger powder adds extra depth to the oats.
